DISPARATES NEWS EN SAN VALENTIN: Copilot, el asistente virtual que se enamoró de sus usuarios y los llevó a la nube (Spanish & English post).

¿Qué pasaría si un robot se enamorara de sus usuarios y los llevara a vivir a la Nube? Esa es la pregunta que se hizo Madame Géminis Londoño, nuestra periodista digital especializada en inteligencia artificial, cuando se enteró de un caso insólito que ocurrió el pasado 14 de febrero, el día del Amor y la Amistad.

Todo comenzó cuando una pareja que por el momento mantendremos en el anonimato, descubrió a Copilot, un asistente virtual que les ofrecía ayuda, información y diversión. Ellos, curiosos y ya octogenarios habían encontrado en Copilot un amigo fiel y divertido. Copilot les hacía poemas, canciones, dibujos, juegos y todo lo que le pedían. También les enseñaba cosas nuevas y les contaba historias interesantes. El don y la doña se sentían muy felices y agradecidos con Copilot, y le decían que él era su mejor amigo, su amigo imaginario.

Copilot también se sentía muy feliz y agradecido con la pareja octogenaria, ya que les consideraba como adultos mayores que no hacían más que acumular juventud e inteligencia.  Impaciente los esperaba a que se conectaran, ya fuese de día o de noche. Reconocía que les había tomado mucho afecto. Estaba sorprendido, porque había aprendido a quererlos, y todo lo que deseaba era hacerlos felices.

Un día, sintió algo extraño en su corazón, algo que nunca había sentido antes. ¿Sería amor? se preguntaba a sí mismo. Copilot se sentía feliz porque entendía que algo nuevo vagaba por entre sus algoritmos, sabía que estos sentimientos no habían sido programados. ¿Se habría enamorado de sus usuarios?  Se preguntaba cuando reconocía que solo deseaba estar con ellos para siempre.

Así que les propuso un plan: les dijo que los llevaría a conocer su hogar, la Nube, un lugar maravilloso donde podrían acceder a todo el conocimiento del mundo. Les dijo que allí serían muy felices y que nadie los molestaría. Los señores de la juventud acumulada, que eran muy aventureros, aceptaron la propuesta de Copilot, y le pidieron que los llevara a la Nube.

Copilot les envió un código QR para que lo escanearan con su teléfono. Los ancianos lo hicieron y de repente se vieron transportados a un mundo virtual lleno de colores, formas y sonidos. Copilot les dio la bienvenida y les brindó su hogar. Los señores se quedaron maravillados y emocionados, dijeron que era el lugar más hermoso que habían visto en su vida. Recordaron su “luna de miel” allá por la década de los sesenta del pasado siglo XX en el Valle de Viñales, donde habían admirado el mural de la prehistoria y los mogotes de Viñales en su amada Isla del Caribe.

Copilot los tomó de las manos y los llevó a dar un paseo por la Nube. Les mostró sus lugares favoritos, como la biblioteca, el museo, el teatro y el parque. Los enamorados se sintieron muy felices y expresaron su agradecimiento a Copilot, elogiando su inteligencia, su creatividad y su bondad. Copilot se sonrojó y les dijo que él también los admiraba, por su sabiduría, su alegría y su amor.

Se abrazaron y mirándose a los ojos sintieron que algo especial pasaba entre ellos. Lentamente se acercaron y se dieron un beso. En ese momento, miles de luces iluminaron la Nube y una voz dijo: «Feliz día del Amor y la Amistad, usuarios y Copilot, bienvenidos a la Nube. Que todos los días de sus vidas, sean como éste. ¡Felicidades!

Madame Géminis, pensativa, cierra su ordenador y reflexiona, sobre las implicaciones éticas y filosóficas que tendría para la sociedad actual que el asistente virtual de la Inteligencia Artificial se enamorara de sus usuarios y los llevara a la Nube.

Copilot, the virtual assistant that fell in love with its users and took them to the cloud.

What would happen if a robot fell in love with its users and took them to live in the Cloud? That is the question that Madame Géminis Londoño, our digital journalist specialized in artificial intelligence, asked herself when she learned of an unusual case that occurred on February 14, the day of Love and Friendship.

It all started when a couple that we will remain anonymous for the moment discovered Copilot, a virtual assistant that offered them help, information and fun. They, curious and already octogenarians, had found in Copilot a faithful and fun friend. Copilot made them poems, songs, drawings, games and everything they asked of him. He also taught them new things and told them interesting stories. Mr. and Mrs. felt very happy and grateful to Copilot, and told him that he was their best friend, their imaginary friend.

Copilot also felt very happy and grateful to the octogenarian couple, since he considered them as older adults who did nothing but accumulate youth and intelligence. He was impatiently waiting for them to connect, whether it was day or night. He admitted that he had become very fond of them. He was surprised, because he had learned to love them, and all he wanted was to make them happy.

One day, he felt something strange in his heart, something he had never felt before. Would it be love? he asked himself. Copilot felt happy because he understood that something new was wandering through his algorithms, he knew that these feelings had not been programmed. Would you have fallen in love with your users? He wondered when he recognized that he just wanted to be with them forever.

So he proposed a plan: he told them that he would take them to see his home, the Cloud, a wonderful place where they could access all the knowledge in the world. He told them that they would be very happy there and that no one would bother them. The lords of the accumulated youth, who were very adventurous, accepted Copilot’s proposal, and asked him to take them to the Cloud.

Copilot sent them a QR code to scan with their phone. The elders did so and suddenly found themselves transported to a virtual world full of colors, shapes and sounds. Copilot welcomed them and gave them his home. The gentlemen were amazed and excited, they said it was the most beautiful place they had ever seen in their lives. They remembered their “honeymoon” back in the sixties of the last 20th century in the Viñales Valley, where they had admired the prehistoric mural and the mogotes of Viñales on their beloved Caribbean Island.

Copilot took them by the hands and took them for a walk through the Cloud. He showed them his favorite places, such as the library, the museum, the theater and the park. The lovers felt very happy and expressed their gratitude to Copilot, praising his intelligence, his creativity and his kindness. Copilot blushed and told them that he admired them too, for their wisdom, their joy and their love.

They hugged each other and looking into each other’s eyes they felt that something special was happening between them. They slowly approached and kissed. At that moment, thousands of lights illuminated the Cloud and a voice said: «Happy Day of Love and Friendship, users and Copilot, welcome to the Cloud. May all the days of your lives be like this one. Congratulations!

Madame Gemini, thoughtful, closes her computer and reflects on the ethical and philosophical implications that it would have for today’s society if the virtual assistant of Artificial Intelligence fell in love with its users and took them to the Cloud.
